STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers took fourth place at the Pacific Mountain Invitational today after losing to Cal Poly 4-1 in the third-place game.  Ross Watson picked up the only point in the match for the Tigers.  In the two-day Pacific Mountain Invitational, Pacific would go 1-2, defeating USF but losing to Fresno State and Cal Poly.

Watson defeated Cal Poly's Antoine Noel 6-2, 7-5 to get Pacific the point in the singles-only competition.  It was Watson's fourth singles win in the last five matches, with the lone other an unfinished match that Watson led in set two when it was called.

Alex Giannini was winning his singles match 6-2, 3-6, 5-3 but the match went unfinished today.  Giannini is 5-2 in singles matches this season.

Miguel Diaz dropped a hard-fought match to Cal Poly's Cory Pang 6-3, 6-2 to to take his first loss in the last seven matches.  Yesterday, he won 7-6, 6-1 against USF and picked up a win against Fresno State 7-5, 6-3.

Tadiwa Chinamo, Akram El Sallaly, and Bernardo Oliveira all lost their singles matches as well.  Chinamo won his first set 6-4 but would lose 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.  El Sallaly also went three sets winning 6-5 in the first but losing 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 overall.

Oliveira would lose 6-2, 7-6 (5).

The next match for the Tigers will be tomorrow, Monday, March 6 against Middle Tennessee State.  That match will be at 1:00 pm at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
