STOCKTON, Calif. - The Tiger Track & Field team posted a strong showing at the Kim Duyst Invitational on Saturday in Turlock, Calif. Multiple Tigers finished within the top-ten and another program record was broken in the 200m.
100m Naomi Nunis finished with a 13.18 and Lena Perry finished right after wit a 13.99. In the 200m Nunis placed set a new school record with a time of 27.34. Freshman Emily Wylie breezed through the 800m in 2:23.77, which was good enough for a 9th place finish. Wylie (4:54.26) and Jasmine Gonzales (4:59.22) finished crossed the line within seconds of one another in the 1500m followed by Madison Cote who posted a 5:07.83 in the event.
In the 3000m steeplechase Emma Winkler posted a 12:19.61 and the relay squad of Nunis, Ebony Ezeji, Perry and Sandra Padilla posted a time of 53.23 in the 4x100m. Participating in the high jump, Perry posted a 1.43m which is the second highest in program history. In shot put, Jasmine Jenkins tossed a 10.46m and Alexia Amo posted a 8.80m.
Jenkins followed up her strong shot put performance with a stellar discus throw of 29.95m, just off a program record.
The Tigers now head North to Sacramento for the Hornet Invitational on March 18th before heading to San Francisco for the SFSU Distance Carnival on the 31st.
