PALO ALTO, Calif. – Competing at the Farm for the first time since 2023, the Pacific men's and women's track and field program picked up a pair of first-place sectional finishes on Friday at the Payton Jordan Invitational, hosted by Stanford at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Highlighting the 18 Pacific participants in Palo Alto, California, junior Jack Weber and freshman Emma Schmutz notched first places in their respective races on the afternoon.
In the men's 800 meter run, Weber clocked the fastest time in the third heat with a 1:53.01, setting a personal record in the process in that event. Weber's previous best was a 1:53.66 at the West Coast Relays in Fresno.

Schmutz laced up for her first 800 meter run of her collegiate career, winning the gold in section four with a time of 2:18.33. Senior Emily Wernli also was a part of the podium finish in third place with a 2:21.22.

13 more Tigers recorded top ten finishes in races across the day while senior Serena Yee secured fifth place in the women's long jump at 10.84 meters, her second-best distance in that event this year.

Freshman Winisha Steele Michael ran in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, posting times of 12.63 and 26.13 respectively.

Up next, the Tigers turn their attention to the Franson Last Chance Meet, hosted by Azusa Pacific at Cougar Athletic Stadium from May 7-9.
