STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's and women's track and field program treks toward Southern California for a pair of meets this week at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific at Cougar Athletic Stadum, and the Leopard Invitational, hosted by University of the La Verne at Ortmayer Stadium.
For the second time this outdoor season, the Tigers will divide themselves into two groups and look to set more personal milestones across the three days of competitions.
Pacific has seen several of its track and field athletes notch personal records throughout the 2026 campaign, highlighted by senior
Emily Wernli on the women's side and junior
Jack Weber on the men's side.
Wernli, a native of Brea, California, will be racing close to home this weekend as she competes in the 5k for the first time this season at the Leopard Invitational. Wernli recorded the fastest women's mile time (5:19.18) last time out at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco. Wernli will join freshman
Keira Hampton and senior Britney Goriye in the 5k at Ortmayer Stadium.
Sophomore
Angelina Lione has been a star in the making for Pacific, holding the season's best marks in the 1,500-meter run (4:34.23) and the 5k (16:47.95). Her 4:34.23 came at the West Coast Relays where she posted a runner-up finish in the event. Lione will be running in the 5k at the Bryan Clay Invitational alongside junior
Valeria Espinoza and Wernli.
Junior
Gianna Solano will be the lone Tiger representative in the 800-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational, looking to beat her personal record of 2:18.25 set at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Making the most in the short distance sprints, freshman
Winisha Steele Michael will suit up with personal bests already in the 100-meter (12.67) and 200-meter dashes (25.80).
Weber has made his mark all season long, notching the fastest Tiger times in the 800 (1:53.66), 1,500 (3:50.81) and 5k (14:31.87) runs. The native of Westfield, Indiana looks to turn heads in the 1,500 and 5k at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Pacific will have five men competing in the 1,500 and six men in the 5k in Azusa, California.
Sophomore
Jonathan Jones will go at it in the long jump this weekend with his personal best distance of 6.14 meters at the Aggie Open.
