STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific Tigers completed the series sweep over the Cal Poly Mustangs Sunday afternoon, winning 8-3 on the back of a seven-run sixth inning.  The Tigers move to 4-2 this year with the three-game sweep, while Cal Poly drops to 1-5.

Danny Mayer led the Tigers, picking up four RBI in the game with a single in the third and a three-run shot in the sixth.  Mayer was one of five Tigers with an RBI in the game.

Ricky Reynoso bounced back in his second start of the year, going 5.2 innings and giving up just one run.  Reynoso allowed just six baserunners in the game and got his first win of 2017.  Jordon Gonzalez, Justin Giovannoni, and Ryan Schalch would close out the win for Reynoso.

"Ricky had a tough outing last weekend, I was really proud of how he worked this week and bounced back," said Head Coach Mike Neu.  "He even exceeded some of our expectations today, he did a great job locating his fastball and made some big pitches in some big spots."

Cal Poly threw Jarred Zill today, who lasted 5.1 innings before being replaced by Slater Lee.  Zill would take the loss, giving up six runs.

Cal Poly would tie the game in the top of the sixth before Pacific's big inning, singling just over the glove of a retreating Kyle Soberano.  That was the last time the game would be close as the Mustangs added two more runs late after the Tigers took their big lead.

Pacific's seven-run inning started with three straight singles by Lucas Halstead, Schalch, and Nate Verlin.  Verlin would pick up an RBI on his single.  Jimmy Boras had an RBI single as well, sending a chopper over the head of the third baseman playing in trying to prevent a run.

Matt Tarantino had a sacrifice fly in the sixth for his sixth RBI of the series while Kevin Sandri, who also stole his second base of the season today, would draw a full-count walk to score a run.
