Tigers Roll Over Incarnate Word 6-1

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Pacific women's tennis team rolled over Incarnate Word on Saturday afternoon 6-1 behind a singles sweep. 

"We had a really slow start in doubles today. Our energy was low and with this 6 game format there is no room for slow starts a low energy," said head coach Tina Samara. "I was happy to see us turn things around in singles, but we need to make sure we come out from the start way better tomorrow against Air Force."

Maayan Sela defeted Zemunik at the no. 1 singles spot 6-4, 7-5 while Anneroos Nederstigt took her match at no. 2 over Sadiq 6-3, 6-2. At no. 3 Anna Ramos Vinolas topped Kareh 6-3, 6-3 and Sabrina Rodriguez and Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz both took their respective matches 6-4, 6-0 to complete the singles sweep.

In doubles, Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz/Nederstigt fell to the duo of Zemunik/Sadiq 7-6 (6) in the no. 1 spot and Sela/ Ramos Vinolas dropped their doubles match 6-1 to Kareh/Savedra.

The Orange and Black will take on Air Force tomorrow at 11:30 AM and return home next Sunday against Cal Poly at noon.
