2015-16 Comes To A Close As Pacific Finishes Play At The WCC Championships

Danville, Calif. - Hitting the course for the final time on the year, the Pacific golf team played the final 18-holes at the WCC Championships on Wednesday afternoon, finishing the tournament in ninth place. Taking on the Blackhawk Country Club course, the Tigers closed out the three-day event at +32 having shot a team-round of 302 on the final day of play.

SeungJae Maeng came up with the Tigers' best finish of the tournament as the senior closed out his career in the orange and black in 17th place at four-over par. For Maeng, the finish at the Championships marked his third top-20 finish of the season, the most of any Pacific golfer on the year. On the day, Maeng went two-over with a 74 to co-pace the Tigers' scoring-four alongside of fellow senior Colten Passey

Passey, playing his final tournament for the Tigers, matched his classmate's mark with a 74 of his own thanks in part to an incredible eagle, three, on the par-5, 5th hole. Passey used his eagle and a late birdie to counter a pair of double-bogies and a bogey to close out his tournament at seven-over par and in 24th place.

Overall, the week was dominated by Saint Mary's which ran away with both the team title and individual title. The Gaels cruised to their third title in six seasons 23 shots clear of second place with a three-day total of -25. Individually, Jonathan De Los Reyes left no doubt individually as the Gael senior lapped the field at -19, 11 shots better than second place.
