Moraga, Calif. - Maayan Sela posted a win on Sunday as the Pacific women's tennis team wrapped play at the SMC Fall Invitational in Moraga.
Sela won in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 over Parminder Kaur of Saint Mary's in a consolation round robin match. Sabrina Rodriguez fell to Marine Dans of San Jose State, 6-4, 6-1 in her consolation match.
In doubles consolation play, Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Sela topped Susanne Boyden and Abigail Bacharach of Cal Poly, 8-5, while Rodriguez and Cal Poly's Claire Bouquet fell to Sarina Chhabra and Alisha Sharma of San Francisco.
"We made some good improvements in doubles this weekend that I am confident will pay off for us later in the year. In singles we also saw some good things from all three players," head coach Tina Samara said. "The last few tournaments we have had a lot of close matches so it was nice to see Maayan get through that with a win today as well. These fall tournaments are demanding and I am proud to see that we competed hard through the end."
The Tigers will be back in action Oct. 21-24 at the ITA Northwest Regionals in Palo Alto.
