Palo Alto, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team picked up three victories at the ITA Northwest Regional Championship Saturday at Stanford. Christiana Ferrari, Sabrina Rodriguez and Anneroos Nederstigt all tallied wins in singles play.

In the main draw of doubles, Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Maayan Sela fell in the Round of 32 to Marine Dans and Gaelle Rey of San Jose State, 8-7 (5). On the consolation side of the draw, Anneroos Nederstigt and Sabrina Rodriguez fell to Janaya Smith and Faye Worrall of Eastern Washington, 8-6.

In the consolation singles round of 128, Ferrari defeated Louisa Brunetti of Sacramento State, 6-3; 6-2 while Sabrina Rodriguez posted a 6-4; 7-5 victory over Kecki of UC Davis. Nederstigt prevailed in a 7-6 (5); 7-6 (5) match against Portland's Emily Soares.

Also in the round of 128, Sela fell to Maria Smith of California, 6-3; 6-2 and Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz fell to Lani Rae Green of UC Davis, 6-4; 6-2.

"We got some good matches in today. 'Roos, Sabri, and Christiana did a great job closing out two really close singles matches today. Cris and Maayan fought back from 5-2 down to get their doubles to a breaker and then fought from 5-1 down in the breaker only to fall short 7-5. It was a great effort and we just need to start the match the way we finished," head coach Tina Samara said.
