Berkeley, Calif. - Sabrina Rodriguez posted a win for the Pacific women's tennis team Saturday at the Cal Nike Invitational.

Anneroos Nederstigt saw her run in the singles Gold flight end in the quarterfinals, as she fell to third-seed Jaimee Gilbertson of UC Santa Barbara, 6-4, 6-3.

In Blue Singles, Maayan Sela fell to Fresno State's Emma Wilson in the consolation quarterfinals, 6-1, 6-3.

Rodriguez picked up her win in consolation play, by topping UCSB's McKenzie Majerle, 7-6 (5), 5-7, 1-0 (7). Jessica Kaye fell 6-2, 7-5, to USC's Caraline Patterson, while Cristina Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz fell to Arizona State's Gussie O'Sullivan, 6-2, 6-2, in consolation play.

In doubles play, Saenz de Buruaga Ruiz and Rodriguez were topped by four-seed Anna Sokiran  and Margarita Treyes of San Francisco, 8-6, in the Gold flight consolation quarterfinals.

Nederstigt and Sela fell 8-3 in the consolation quarterfinals of the Blue fight, to Clementine Clement and Emma Critser of Saint Mary's.

Jessica Kaye played a consolation doubles match with Sara Korzeniecki of Nevada, and the duo was topped by Cal's Audrey Mayer and Fresno State's Abbey Watanabe, 8-6.

"Today we finally did some things that may not have ended up with as many wins as we would like, but things that I know will make us better players and a better team down the road," head coach Tina Samara said. "It is always hard to do things outside your comfort zone and jeopardize the result, but it is essential for a player's growth. It was also great to see Sabrina take the 10-point tiebreaker after losing two of them yesterday."
