Stockton, Calif. - Both doubles pairs for the Pacific men's tennis team advanced to their flight finals Saturday at the 2015 Pacific Tigers Invitational as Sem Verbeek and Kumara Pardha Adavelly will play for the Flight A title and Lance Ngo and Bernardo Oliveira will compete for the Flight B crown.
Sem Verbeek battled back in the singles Flight A semifinals, rallying to defeat Andrew Poustie of Nevada, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2. He advances to Sunday's Flight A final to face Bryce McKelvie of UC Davis.
Verbeek and Adavelly defeated Alexandros Vakouftsis and Youssef Hassan of Fresno State, 6-3 in the semifinals while Ngo and Oliveira downed Ryan Andrada and Aaron Breust 7-5 in their semi.
In singles consolation play, Ngo defeated Marco Barretto of USF, 6-3, 6-1, in the Flight B consolation semifinals to move on to the consolation final against Eli Whittle of UC Davis. Oliveira fell to James Markiewicz of Saint Mary's, 6-1, 6-2, in the consolation semifinals of Flight A. In round-robin consolation play, Adavelly swept Logan Liddell of Sonoma State, 6-0, 6-1.
