Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team defeated UC Santa Barbara 4-3 on Sunday, April 14 at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The Tigers improved to 9-12, 4-5 in Big West Conference action. The Gauchos dropped to 14-7, 5-3 in Big West play.

 As the doubles matches got underway, the Tigers gained momentum and exuded confidence. The Tigers swept the top two doubles matches, which enabled them to secure the doubles win over the gauchos. As a result the third battle was canceled. The Tigers then prepared for their respective singles matches.

In the singles events, Pacific picked up three of the six matches. Of the victories was sophomore Iveta Masarova at the No. 1 position, freshman Hana Ritterova at the No. 2 position and sophomore Gergana Boncheva at the No. 4 slot. With the securing of four matches, the Tigers clinched their fourth conference win of the season.

The Tigers now gear up for the Big West Championships which are scheduled to kick off April 25th.
