Tigers Hit The Road For A Midweek Doubleheader At Bakersfield

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Complete Release

Having been home for the past two weeks and with Big West Conference play looming, the Tigers hit the road for their final non-conference regular season road trip with a quick bus ride down to Cal State Bakersfield.  Pacific will play two against the Roadrunners on Tuesday, March 27 with the doubleheader beginning at 12:00 pm.  Last season, the Tigers took a pair from the Roadrunners at home at Bill Simoni Field, 10-9 (10 inn.) and 11-0 (5 inn.)

Pacific is coming off of a 4-1 showing at its own Libby Matson Tournament.  Pacific took down Princeton twice, San Diego State once and split with Saint Mary's on the final day of play on Sunday afternoon.  Leading the Tigers into the fray on Tuesday afternoon will be the reigning Big West Player of the Week, Nikki Armagost, and Big West Pitcher of the Week, Tori Shepard.  Armagost is coming off of a weekend in which the junior hit .471 with seven RBI and three runs scored.  Shepard posted one of her best showings in her year and a half of work as the sophomore was nearly unhittable while going 2-0 with one save.  Shepard threw 16 innings of scoreless softball while also posting a 12.1 inning stretch of hitless pitching.
