Though today's match results weren't favored by the Tigers, they faced nationally ranked opponents that were part of a well established team. The Washington State Huskies claimed victory after today's match with a score of 7-0. The Tigers faced opponents that were ranked within the top 100; Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan (92), Martin Kildahl (83), and Kyle McMorrow (81).
Coach Redondo stated, "Today was a great opportinity for the Tigers. Even though we went down 7-0 we were in 6 of the 9 matches. I believed before and I still believe now that our team is right there with the 26th team (UW) in the country. They showed why they are one of the top teams today. We are using it as a motivator as we move forward for another great opportunity vs. Boise state tomorrow. I am proud of the guys for coming out in our first match with the performance."
This particular match also signified the first match for two of the three new Tiger additions. Sophomore Alex Golding and freshman Angus Thomson made their debut on the court today representing Pacific. The team demographic now consists of 1 freshman, 2 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 2 seniors.
Today's opponent featured 2 of their sophomores, 1 junior in their doubles matches, and 4 of their six seniors.
