Matt Fuson Earned Honorable Mention for the Horizon Air Summer Series Baseball League

Aug. 17, 2009

The Horizon Air Summer Series announced the All-Series Baseball Honors and senior Matt Fuson (Lodi, Calif.) earned honorable mention for his play for the Lodi Baseball Club during the summer. He hit .323 with a slugging percentage of .492. Fuson led the team with 40 hits, 32 runs, and four home runs. Matt proved his speed on the base path, with a team high of 15 stolen bases.

Along with Fuson, the Lodi Baseball Club had several Pacific members contribute to their strong 15-9 record and winning of the Engelken Division. Wes Yourth coached alongside Noah St. Urbain, the director of baseball operations. The players included senior Hunter Carnevale (Roseville, Calif.), junior Thomas Berolzheimer (Stockton, Calif.) and freshman Dustin Torchio (Santa Cruz, Calif.) who joined forces for the summer league.

The Horizon Air Summer series is a unique eleven-week long competition among elite college wood bat baseball clubs from the Western United States. Fulfilling a mission of keen competition, the Horizon Air Summer Series crosses Collegiate league boundaries to form a "league of leagues".
