STOCKTON, Calif. – A pair of 400-foot blasts propelled the Pacific baseball program to a 6-3 victory over Santa Clara on Saturday afternoon from Klein Family Field.
Behind a quality start from graduate student
Adan Perez and big flies from redshirt sophomore
Robert Orr and graduate student
Brendan O'Sullivan, the Tigers (14-23, 6-8 WCC) carried over their late-game magic from last night to claim game two of the West Coast Conference series against the Broncos (14-23, 3-11 WCC).
The biggest swing of the day came off O'Sullivan's bat in the seventh inning as his towering three-run shot to left field gave Pacific a 4-3 lead, sending the Tiger fans into a frenzy. It was O'Sullivan's first home run since Opening Night on Feb. 13 against Utah Valley.
Orr crushed his team-leading sixth home run of the 2026 campaign, and second round tripper at Klein Family Field this season. Orr's opposite field solo home run cut into Santa Clara's early 2-0 lead in half in the home portion of the second inning.
Pacific pitching continued to flex its muscle as Perez gave up three runs in six innings with five strikeouts for his third career quality start as a Tiger on Saturday. Perez' five punch outs tie his season-high, which he also established last week at Pepperdine.
Of note, the first two starters in the series for Pacific (
Adan Perez and
Zach Todd) have thrown back-to-back quality starts, marking the first time that has happened since a doubleheader victory on April 26, 2014, when the Tigers defeated San Diego at home. In game one, Michael Hager threw 7.0 innings of two-run ball, followed by Jake Jenkins' 8.2 inning-performance in the next game where he allowed just one earned run.
After the Tigers carried a 4-3 lead into the eighth inning, redshirt junior
Carson Revay was summoned for his second straight appearance out of the bullpen and notched his team-leading seventh save of the season. Revay put an exclamation mark on the victory with a strikeout, lowering his ERA to 3.12 in the process while tying for the second-most saves in the WCC following Saturday's action.
Revay's save would not have been possible without the defensive wizardry by O'Sullivan at second base in the eighth inning, escaping a bases-loaded situation by leaping into the air and robbing the Broncos' potential game-tying and go-ahead runs from scoring.
Senior
Blaine French followed in the home half by adding some pivotal insurance runs off the bench with a pinch-hit two-RBI double that allowed Pacific to cruise to the series-clinching finish.
The Tigers look to go for the sweep over the Broncos tomorrow, which would be the first time a Pacific team has taken three straight in a series from a WCC opponent since the 2022 campaign against Saint Mary's at home. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. from Klein Family Field.
