Carbonatto and Curtier Earn ESPN the Magazine Academic All-Region First Team Honors

Stockton, Calif. - Seniors Gina Carbonatto (Lake Stevens, Wash.) and Jennifer Curtier (Lancaster, Calif.) earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII First Team honors on Thursday, May 10.

The All-District Teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This selection is Curtier's third of her career after garnering all-district honors in both 2006 and 2005. For the 2007 season, Curtier enters the final weekend of the season with a .380 batting average in 53 games. Jennifer leads the Tigers with eight home runs, 43 RBI, 16 doubles, 51 walks, 10 stolen bases and a .660 slugging percentage. Curtier is also second on the team with 57 hits, 38 runs scored and fielding percentage at .980.

For Carbonatto, this selection is the second of her career. On the season, Carbonatto leads the Tigers with a .406 batting average, 71 hits, 53 runs scored and has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Gina also is second on the team with seven doubles, 38 RBI, nine stolen bases and a .560 slugging percentage. Gina also became Pacific's career hits leader 273 hits.

Both Curtier and Carbonatto will advance to the national ballot, with the Academic All-America Teams slated for a May 30th release date.
