Las Vegas, Nev. - A first inning home run by senior Jennifer Curtier (Lancaster, Calif.) was all the offense the Tigers needed to improve to 3-0 at the Alexis Park Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. as Pacific downed the University of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday, February 10. With the win the Tigers moved to 3-0 on the season.
An infield single by senior Gina Carbonatto (Lake Stevens, Wash.) started things off for the Tigers. Senior Lizzie Hagen (Anaheim, Calif.) followed suit with a single to left field to set up Curtier in the Tigers' first at bats. The home run was the second of the season for Curtier and her second in as many games. For the game, Curtier was 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Held in check for the next two innings, the Tigers broke through for a fourth run in the fourth inning on an RBI infield single by Carbonatto. She finished the game 3-for-3, all infield hits, and one sacrifice bunt which setup the Tigers fifth and final run of the game in the sixth.
In the circle, junior Alyce Jorgensen (Los Altos, Calif.) picked up her second consecutive win of the season. She threw all seven innings for the Tigers, relinquishing five hits and one earned run while striking out five and walking a single batter.
