COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – The Pacific men's golf team posted a runner-up finish at the first-ever edition of the CDA National Reserve Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington at the CDA National Reserve.

The Tigers (-6) battled all afternoon to climb to the top spot of the 16-team leaderboard, ultimately coming up just short of team champion Saint Mary's and securing the second-place nod. Following an evenly-played first two rounds on Monday, Pacific recorded the best third-round finish of all the competing teams, carding a six-under par in that round.

Pacific found a pair of strong performances from junior Will Tanaka and junior Bradley Smolinski, who place among the top five on the individual leaderboard. Tanaka finished in the top four with a six-under par, followed by Smolinski's four-under score for his fifth-place finish.

Junior Felix Bouchard, freshman Aiden Tiet and junior Guillaume Paquette rounded the rest of the Tigers' lineup across the two days with all three notching top 30 spots individually. All five Tigers in the lineup held their ground in the top third of the 96 participants.

Junior Leonas Jung made his mark in his season debut as the lone individual Tiger, securing a top 15 finish amongst the individuals. Jung carded a key eagle on hole 16 to boost his score. Tanaka and Paquette also collected eagles for three total on Pacific's side in the tournament.

The Tigers look to carry this momentum over into next week when they take part in the Mark Simpson Invitational, hosted by Colorado from Sept. 29-30. Pacific will then host its Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park from Oct. 12-14 with free admission.
