Beach Volleyball Competes in Four Dual Matches this Weekend

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific beach volleyball team continues the regular season on Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8, competing in four dual matches on the road.

The Tigers (0-12) will open the weekend with a trip north to face off against Sacramento State at 9 a.m. and Concordia (Calif.) at 1 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers follow with two matches in Bakersfield on Saturday against CSU Bakersfield at 10 a.m. and Cal Poly at noon.

Competing for the first time since March 26, the Tigers are coming off four dual matches against West Coast Conference opponents at the Mid-Season Invitational. The Tigers faced off against nationally ranked LMU, San Francisco, and Portland twice throughout the weekend.

Facing off against the Hornets (3-8) for the third time this season, the Tigers have dropped the two previous meetings. Since the 2013 season, the Tigers hold an 11-6 edge over the Hornets in the all-time series, the last triumph coming on April 17, 2021, in a 3-2 win at Hornet Beach.

Following the matchup with the Hornets, the Tigers will take on the Golden Eagles (11-12) for the first time in program history.

The Tigers will open Saturday facing off against CSU Bakersfield, taking on the Roadrunners (13-6) for the first time this season. The two programs have only faced off three times in program history, with the Roadrunners securing all three contests last season.

The Tigers close out the weekend against Cal Poly. The Mustangs (9-19) have won three of their last five contests and are coming off a 5-0 loss to #9 California last weekend. Since the 2014 season, the Tigers have won two of the five meetings all-time, earning back-to-back victories on April 6, 2014, and April 3, 2015.
