BREMERTON, Wash. – The Pacific men's golf team sits in ninth place after shooting an 11-over-par 299 in the first round of the WCC Championship at Gold Mountain - Olympic Course on Thursday.
"We got off of a slow start, had a couple of big numbers early, and this course is tough to pick those strokes back up, Head Coach John Cook said after the round."
Leonardo Rigamonti led the way for the Tigers, firing a 2-under-par 70 to open the conference tournament. After an opening-nine 37, Rigamonti closed with a 3-under-par 33 to end the first round in a tie for fifth on the player leaderboard.
"Leo played well today," Cook said. "He had a solid round."
The Tigers look to move up the leaderboard over the final two rounds.
Pacific tees off in the second round of the WCC Championship at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, April 28th.
