SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Pacific women's track & field team participated in two events as it competed at the Mike Fanelli Invitational Friday afternoon at San Francisco State.
Sophie Pazzo, the lone participant for the Tigers in the 5000 meters, nearly set a new personal best as she finished in 88th place out of 115 runners with a time of 18:35.54.
Running the second fastest time of her career, Pazzo was just over seven seconds short of breaking her previous career best of 18:28.29 set last season at the Triton Invitational.
The Tigers had four team members compete in the 1500 meters, led by
Alyssa Hershey's 85th-place finish out of 163 competitors. Setting the pace for the Tigers with a time of 4:50.53, Hershey ran the fifth fastest time of her career.
Dalee Higgins completed the event in 137th place with a new personal best time of 5:08.30. Higgins surpassed her previous best of 5:08.71 set at the Cardinal Classic earlier this season by 41 tenths of a second.
Sophia Livingston and
Elisabeth Garner also competed in the event.
Pacific returns to action at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, as it wraps up the Mike Fanelli Invitational.
