FRESNO, Calif. – The Pacific men's and women's track and field program returns to action for the second week in a row, competing in the West Coast Relays, hosted by Fresno State at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers will send a full squad to participate in this big two-day meet, looking to turn in some more personal bests and milestones as the outdoor season hits the midway point of the campaign. In total, Pacific will take 35 members from the men and women's team to Fresno.
Pacific last ran last week in the Aggie Open where the program collected ten team total points in Davis, California. Spearheading the competition was sophomore
Jonathan Jones who notched a third-place finish in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.14 meters.
On the track side of things, the Tigers will look for sophomore
Angelina Lione to take charge this week as she seeks to carry on her impressive times in distance runs from earlier at the Golden Gate Track Fest. Lione posted a runner-up finish in the women's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:35.62 at the San Francisco State-hosted event, setting a school record in the process.
Junior
Jack Weber has been a staple on the men's side this track season after he was crowned the mile champion at the MPSF Championships during the indoor campaign.
The two-day meet will take place all day across the weekend with events starting as early as 9 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
