Cohen Named to Pacific Volleyball Staff

STOCKTON, Calif. -- Collin Cohen, a veteran assistant volleyball coach and former collegiate player, joined the Pacific volleyball staff in March 2023.

"Collin brings a tremendous amount of experience to this team," Head Coach Greg Gibbons said. "He is a competitor with strengths that will help in many areas of our program."

Cohen joined the Tigers after two seasons as an assistant on the North Carolina-Wilmington staff. He served as the recruiting and offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, competing in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Before UNCW, Cohen worked at Eastern Washington for two years in the Big Sky Conference. He was the recruiting coordinator for the Eagles and coordinated both offense and defense.

Cohen started at the Division I level in 2018 as a volunteer assistant at Utah, helping to guide the Utes to a 19-14 record and an NCAA Tournament berth.

Cohen's first collegiate coaching opportunity was at Missouri Valley College, an NAIA school, where he was the head men's volleyball coach and assistant on the women's staff. He coached the Viking men's program to a 10-10 mark in 2018, including a 7-3 record in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

A native of Sacramento, Cohen also coached a season at Jesuit High School in his hometown. He was also the head coach of the Pineapple Volleyball Club in Fort Wayne for two seasons.

Cohen played collegiate volleyball at Santa Barbara City College for two seasons before transferring to Purdue Fort Wayne, where he played opposite for the Mastodons in 2014 and 2015.

He earned a bachelor's degree in education from Purdue Fort Wayne in 2015 and a master's in English for second language learners from Central Missouri State University.
