Pacific Comes up Short to UC Irvine

Box Score Stockton, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team (2-6) dropped its contest to UC Irvine (1-4) this afternoon, 4-2.

Coming off of their dominating performance against Nevada, the Tigers looked to keep that momentum against Irvine. After dropping the first doubles point on court #1, 2-6, court #3 was the next hope for Pacific. They dropped the point 3-6, and UC Irvine took the doubles point.

Despite their struggles in doubles, Pacific had a chance to get back into the contest on the singles side. On court #1, junior Peter Alam dominated his match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. On court #3, redshirt freshman Terence Das picked up the second singles point for the Tigers, defeating Park 6-3, 7-6.

Freshman Tiago Silva and junior Ran Amar went to three sets but ultimately dropped the points.

"Tough loss today," said Head Coach Robin Goodman. "We competed well at times but need more consistent fight from start to finish."

Pacific will be back in action on March 11th, when they head to South Florida.
