Men's Tennis Faces Off Against Nevada and UC Irvine at Home

Stockton, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team (1-5) will spend this weekend competing at home against Nevada (0-3) and UC Irvine (0-3).

Last week the Tigers opened the WCC season against San Diego and won one singles point from junior Ran Amar in a 6-1, 6-4 win. The Tigers took on UC Davis and dropped a hard-fought contest 4-3. This week, the team will look to build off the individual momentum and pick up some big wins.

Redshirt Freshman Terence Das won the first singles point against Davis in a competitive three-set match. The Tigers showed a strong effort in the doubles match against Davis, winning two of three matches and the match point.

Freshman Tiago Silva started the season off undefeated in the singles competition but has dropped his last two singles matches. He will look to get back on track and get back in the win column this weekend.

Nevada has yet to win a competition this season, dropping competitions to UC San Diego, Ole Miss, and Virginia.

Irvine still needs to secure a win this season, dropping their first three matches to USC, LMU, and UCLA.

The Tigers will face off against Nevada on Friday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m, with the women's team competing at the same time, and then face off against UC Irvine on Saturday, Feb. 18, at noon, with both matches taking place at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
