SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Pacific women's track team set four Pacific women's indoor track records at the Sunshine Indoor Open at Westmont on Friday and Saturday.
"This event was another great start to the season," said head coach
Josh Jones. "We had solid performance including four school records. It was a great day today."
Freshman
Leilani Rios set the Pacific record in the weight throw with a toss of 12.45 meters, placing third in the event. She also played fourth in shot put with a toss of 10.40 meters.
Senior
Alyssa Hershey set the Pacific record in the mile with a time of 5:18.72, placing second in the event. She also top the top Pacific time in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:11.15.
Graduate student
Kailey Espinoza set the school record in the triple jump with a distance of 9.75 meters, placing second. She also placed second in the high jump with a height of 1.22 meters. She placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 4.49 meters.
Junior
Ella Leroy finished third in the indoor pentathlon, setting a Pacific record with 2,762 points. She had the top mark of the competitors in the long jump, shot put and high jump. She was second in the 800-meter run and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles.
