STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's basketball team (8–14, 3–8) heads back on the road, traveling to Southern California to take on LMU (5–17, 2–9) and Pepperdine (7–14, 2–9).
The Tigers are coming off a huge conference win over BYU last week. They will look to continue that momentum behind junior
Liz Smith (13.8 PPG), 15+ points in three of the past four games and redshirt junior
Rosie Schweizer (10+ points and 20 total rebounds in the past three games). Smith is fifth in the conference in three-point percentage and 23rd in the nation. Sophomore
Elizabeth Elliott leads the team with 6.0 rebounds per game, senior
Sam Ashby is top of the team in steals with 36, and junior
Cecilia Holmberg has a team-leading eight blocks on the year.
The Tigers swept the Lions (73-52), and Pepperdine (74-65) is a weekend homestand earlier this season.
The loss to Pacific kicked off a six-game skid for LMU. The Lions are 2-10 at home this season with wins over Cal State San Marcos and Utah State. The Lions are led by senior Ariel Johnson, who is averaging 13.3 points per game. Junior Alexis Mark is averaging 6.1 rebounds per game for the Lions.
The Waves have one win in their past ten games, defeating LMU 68-48 at home. Despite the tough stretch, Pepperdine is 5-5 at home this season. Sophomore Ally Stedman has blossomed this season, averaging 15.5 points per game, dishing out 31 assists and grabbing 26 steals. The Waves only have a -2.5 point differential but turn the ball over on average 18 times per game.
