STOCKTON, Calif. – On Tuesday afternoon, Pacific women's basketball Head Coach Bradley Davis unveiled the two newest Tigers in graduate center JoJo Nworie and junior forward Yana Karamfilova.

"I think our Tiger fans are going to be equally as excited as we are with the additions of JoJo and Yana. They are difference makers on both ends of the floor. Both are versatile inside-outside offensive threats with length and athleticism to disrupt on the defensive end. I honestly cannot wait to get started this summer," Davis said.

A 6-5 center from Lagos, Nigeria, Nworie makes her way to Stockton after spending the past two seasons at Colorado in the Big-12 conference. During her time in Boulder, the rising graduate flashed an ability as an inside-out scorer, shooting 51% from the floor and stepping out to hit on 40% of her three-point looks. Defensively she made her name as a shot blocker as she tallied 11 blocks in 4.5 minutes per game over the two seasons. No stranger to March success, the graduate was part of two Colorado postseason runs – qualifying for the NCAA Tournament this most recent season and the WBIT the season before.

Prior to that, Nworie established herself as one of the premier players at the JuCo level, earning an All-American Honorable Mention nod following her 2022 campaign in which she averaged 12.1 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game at Southern Idaho - helping the Golden Eagles to a 30-3 record and conference title. The Nigeria native currently holds the Southern Idaho school record for single game rebounds, grabbing 24 against College of Southern Nevada.

Opposite Nworie in the post, Karamfilova reaches Stockton via Tampa, Florida where she spent the last two seasons as a member of South Florida's program. The 6-2 forward last played during the 2024-25 season where she was a member of USF's run to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. During that season she played in 13 games averaging just under a point a game on just under 30% shooting. Like her fellow transfer, Karamfilova impacted the floor defensively with four blocks in 3.6 minutes played per game.

Due to a coaching change within USF, she opted to redshirt the 2025-26 season.

The bulk of her experience comes at the international level where she represents her home country of Bulgaria. At the 2024 Division B FIBA Women's EuroBasket competition she averaged 13.8 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game, highlighted by 19-point outings against both Albania and Romania. In addition, she has represented Bulgaria at the U16, U18 and U20 levels. The Sofia native also has club experience playing for BC Beroe Stara Zagora. The club should sound familiar to Tigers fans as BC Beroe Stara Zagora signed formed Tiger Elizabeth Elliott when she graduated Pacific at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The two signees bring Pacific's roster size to 11 and joins three incoming freshmen with six returning student-athletes.
