STOCKTON, Calif. – Head Coach Bradley Davis bolstered his front court on Friday night, adding graduate guard Victoria Rivera from the transfer portal to spend her last season with the Tigers.
"Victoria's versatility makes her a valuable addition to next year's team. She can play multiple positions and she has a skill set that fits what we need and want to do next year. She will be as much of an add on the defensive side as she will offensively. Beyond the court Victoria's an excellent student and great personality, and we can't wait to get her in the orange and black," Davis said.
This time last season, Rivera was on the opposite coast as a member of Georgetown's program. The guard had her breakout season in 2024-25 when she was GU's third leading scorer at 10.5 points per game and started 27 of the 30 games she appeared in. Highlights from that season include two 20-plus-point games, headlined by a 26-point explosion at Seton Hall that pushed the Pirates to overtime.
Defensively she showed a penchant for steals, going for four-plus steals twice and a registered a career high five against Boston University. Highly durable as well, Rivera was on the court a lot that season as she logged 993 total minutes and played an average of 33 minutes per game.
Last season Rivera appeared in nine contests before redshirting the remainder of the season. Prior to her collegiate career, she played at Dobie High School in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
Rivera joins a quad of returnees in the Pacific front court in rising sophomores Sophia Mindermann and Liv Yergensen along with juniors Stella Szabo and Daria Nestorov. Her addition puts the Tigers roster at 12 student-athletes and the third incoming transfer of the offseason.
She is set to officially join the team over the summer.
