RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Pacific women's cross country team took part in its second meet of the season as the Tigers earned a 15th-place finish and set personal bests Saturday morning at the UCR Invitational.
Alyssa Hershey and
Sophie Pazzo led the Tigers for the second straight meet as Hershey finished 53rd out of 254 total runners. Hershey, who continues to set personal bests, finished the 5k race with a time of 19:05.5, 50 seconds faster than her personal best set at the Big Wave Invitational in the first meet of the season.
Pazzo finished shortly after Hershey, crossing the finish line in 64th place with a new personal best of 19:15.6. Pazzo also broke her personal best set at the Big Wave Invitational two weeks ago, crushing her previous time set at that race by over 41 seconds.
The rest of the field for the Tigers set personal bests as
Dalee Higgins, the third team member to cross the finish line, set a new personal best with a time of 19:59.3, while
Ella Leroy placed behind her in 142nd with a time of 20:24.1.
Emily Wernli (159th – 20:38.6),
Elisabeth Garner (183rd – 21:08.9),
Sophia Livingston (210th – 22:00.1), and Briteny Gorioye (231st – 23:05.7) rounded out the field for the Tigers.

Pacific returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 30, as the Tigers host the Pacific Collegiate Invitational at the Micke Grove Golf Course. The women's 6k race will have a start time of 6:15 p.m
