SPOKANE, Wash. – The Pacific men's and women's cross country program begins the postseason at the West Coast Conference Championships, hosted by Gonzaga at The Course Spokane Valley on Saturday morning.
The women's 6K race starts at 10 a.m. and the men's 8K race begins at 11 a.m. Both championships and the awards ceremony will be streamed live on
ESPN+.
"We are excited about the opportunity to compete at the West Coast Conference championships this weekend in Spokane, Washington," Pacific head coach Isaac Wood said. "It's especially exciting for our men's team to have their first opportunity. We are healthy, fit and ready to compete our best and represent our university the best way we can."
Last race, the men earned fourth place out of 18 teams at the Bronco Invitational while the women claimed seventh place out of 16 teams.
Leading the pack for the Tigers on the women's side has been sophomore
Angelina Lione, who ran the fastest 6k in school history last time out, clocking a time of 20:38.4 at the Bronco Invitational. Lione has been the first women's runner to complete every race for Pacific this season.
On the men's side, one Tiger to keep an eye is freshman
Daniel Judd. Judd secured the fastest time for Pacific, clocking in at 24:20.7 during the Bronco Invitational. With that time, Judd claims the fastest 8k set by a men's runner this season.
Last year, the Tigers hosted the WCC Championships in Lodi, California, earning an 11th place finish on the women's side. This year marks the first time that both the men and women will compete in the WCC Championships.
If Pacific or any of the Tigers are eligible following Saturday's meet, they will run at the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento, California on Friday, Nov. 14.
