MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Pacific cross country program competed with some of the nation's best, securing a ninth-place finish in the men's 8k and a 10th-place finish in the women's 6k at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Freshman
Jett Davenport and sophomore
Angelina Lione were the first Tigers to cross the finish line in their respective races, each locking down positions among the top 50 of participants.
Davenport set a personal record in his second 8k of the season, clocking in a time of 26:48.1 for 50th place individually. Davenport's time represents the sixth fastest 8k by a Pacific men's runner in program history. Junior
Samuel Lanham still holds the top spot in that category with a time of 25:19.4 set at the first meet of the season at the USF Invitational.
Fifth year
Andre Souza and sophomore
Kohl Sanders also saw improvements for personal records in the 8k on Friday, completing the race in 27:02.06 and 27:24.1, respectively.
Lione continues to impress in the early going of her first season at Pacific, finishing a women's race first for the third straight time in 2025. In the Roy Griak Invitational, Lione earned 29th place individually, earning a time of 22:49.3 in the 6k.

Pacific returns to the Golden State and looks ahead to hosting the Pacific Invitational on Oct. 3 at Micke Grove Golf Course in Lodi, California.
