Lione Sets School Record at Bronco Invitational

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Pacific cross country program put a bow on the 2025 regular season at the Bronco Invitational as sophomore Angelina Lione made school history on Saturday morning at Baylands Park.

While the Tigers collected a fourth-place finish on the men's side in the 8k and seventh-place finish on the women's side in the 6k, it was Lione who created the main headline with her record-setting performance among the personal bests for the Tigers this morning.

"I'm very pleased with how the day went," Pacific head coach Isaac Wood said. "So many of our athletes ran their best races of the year or their career and this bodes well for us as we start to head into the championship portion of our season."

With a fourth-place individual finish at the Santa-Clara hosted meet, Lione ran the fastest 6k in school history, clocking a time of 20:38.4 and surpassing the previous record set in 2019 by Jasmine Gonzalez, who also accomplished this feat at the Bronco Invitational with a 21:07.2 mark.

Lione has been the first women's runner to complete every race for Pacific this season, constantly improving and culminating to the personal and season best on Saturday.

Sophomore Alix Crawford also flexed off her speed, becoming the third fastest Tiger to complete the women's 6k in school history with a time of 21:12.7. Crawford finished with 14th best time of the attached runners and was second to finish for Pacific behind Lione.

On the men's side competing in their first-ever Bronco Invitational, freshman Daniel Judd secured the fastest time for the Tigers, clocking in as the seventh fastest attached runner at 24:20.7. With that time, Judd claims the fastest 8k set by a men's runner this season.

Junior Samuel Lanham, sophomore Kohl Sanders and senior Andre Souza were among the top 30 attached as well, finishing with sub-25 minute times in their 8ks.

Winning the meet on the men's side was Long Beach State while UC Santa Barbara claimed the team victory on the women's side.

Up next, the Tigers prepare for the West Coast Conference Championships, taking place on Nov. 1 in Spokane, Washington.
