STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's water polo program has added nine new student-athletes for the fall.
"This class exemplifies what we are always about. Depth, experience and talent from varied backgrounds," said Head Coach
James Graham. "We have student-athletes who have excelled here who are from a whole variety of places, and I am excited to have all these guys come into our program and make us better."
Nash Brandon joins the Tigers after graduating from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in Honolulu, Hawaii. The 5-11 right-hander driver joins Pacific as a freshman. Brandon lettered in water polo and swimming three years in high school, only missing the fourth letter due to COVID. He was selected to the First Team All-State as a senior. Brandon is the son of Stacy and Tim and will be studying Business at Pacific.
Bae Fountain is a 6-3 graduate transfer from the University of Waikato. He is from Tauranga, New Zealand and graduated from Mount Maunganui College. He is the goalie for the New Zealand Men's National Team and will play goalie for the Tigers. At 16, he was the youngest goalkeeper ever selected to the New Zealand Men's Water Polo Team and was a member of the New Zealand Junior Men's Volleyball Team. Fountain is the son of Sheree and Pete and brother to Jasmine. He'll be studying to get his Masters in communications at Pacific.
Charlie Donlin joins Pacific in his hometown of Stockton as a freshman attacker after graduating from St. Mary's High School. The 6-2 right-hander is a utility player in the pool. Donlin lettered in water polo all four years of high school and was an honorable mention all-conference in his freshman year of high school and selected to all-conference second team as a sophomore. He was a two-time MVP in high school. Donlin is the son of Patrick and Christine and will be studying economics at Pacific.
Flynn Howarth (Dawson) is a junior transfer from Massey University. The 6-2 center defender graduated from Rangitoto College in Auckland, New Zealand. The right-hander won Club Player of the Year in 2021 with the North Harbour Senior Men's Team and was the U18 MVP in 2019-20. Howarth is the son of Sheryl van Biljon and brother to Kaitlin Howarth. He'll be studying bioengineering at Pacific.
Aleksander "Alek" Newman joins the Tigers as a freshman after graduating from San Juan Hills High School. The 6-5 right-hander from Dana Point, Calif. will play center. Newman is the son of Dorothy Moneymaker and brother of Cameron Newman. He'll be studying business at Pacific.
Ran Souva is a sophomore transfer from West Valley College. The right-handed, 5-10 attacker attended Carmel Zvulun High School and is from Kfar Hassidim, Israel. In his time at West Valley, Souva was named a Second-Team All-American and was named to the All-Coast Second-Team and the All-NorCal Team. Souva is the son of Mali and Dani and brother to Almog and Gal. He'll be studying business administration marketing at Pacific.
Elijah "Eli" Sternweiler joins Pacific from New Trier High School in Chicago, Ill. The 6-1 freshman serves in the net as goalie. Along with academic accolades, Sternweiler lettered all four years of high school, was selected twice to the all-conference first team, twice to the all-state first-team and twice to the all-sectional first-team. He was a NISCA All-American Honorable Mention and a USA Water Polo Junior Olympics All-American. He is the son of Ellen and Allen and brother to Jonah and Hannah. At Pacific, Sternweiler will be majoring in marketing management with a minor in computer science.
Daniel Warman is a freshman from Rangitoto College in Auckland, New Zealand. The 6-1 right-handed utility player comes to the Tigers with academic and athletic accolades. He currently plays for the North Harbour Water Polo Tier One Men's Team and scored over 130 goals in the 2021 season, scoring in every game. Warman is the son of Des and Karen and brother to Shane and Katie. He'll be studying sports management at Pacific.
Patrick Wooler joins the Tigers from St. Ignatius College Prep in Nevada. The 5-10, right-handed freshman will play as an attacker for Pacific.
