Men’s Water Polo Lands Trio on All-Academic Team

STOCKTON, Calif. – Representing nearly half of the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, senior Alek Newman and sophomores Ori Buzaglo and Yoav Rendler from the Pacific men's water polo program were recognized for their academic achievements.
 
The requirements to make the team were a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average, have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution, participate in at least 50 percent of the institutions contests and be a starter or important reserve.
 
Newman becomes a two-time All-Academic honoree after earning Honorable Mention in 2023. He carries a 3.91 GPA as a business administration - business analytics major. Newman has tallied nine goals on the season with a hat trick against Occidental.
 
Buzaglo holds a 3.92 GPA and is majoring in electrical engineering. He has started in nearly every game and has racked up 32 goals. Buzaglo has recorded hat tricks against Fordham, Occidental, Pepperdine and Cal Baptist.
 
Rendler carries a 3.90 GPA as a business administration – finance major. He's registered 22 goals and 26 assists with seven multi-goal performances.
 
All three helped the Tigers win back-to-back WCC Regular Season Championships and clinch the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament in both years.

In addition to the three that were named to the All-Academic Team, Pacific had three student-athletes named Honorable Mention in Declan McJilton - majoring in business administration, Jonah Martorana - majoring in exploratory business, and Noah Wendt - a business administration major.
