Men’s Water Polo Lands Three All-Americans

STOCKTON, Calif. – The youthful Pacific men's water polo program saw three underclassmen earn All-America honors from the ACWPC as freshman Apostolos Georgaras was named to the Third-Team and sophomore Ori Buzaglo and freshman Borisz Kasa-Gal were tabbed as Honorable Mentions.
 
The trio helped Pacific win the West Coast Conference Regular Season Championship for the second year in a row with a 15-8 overall record and 5-1 in conference.
 
Georgaras, from Patras, Greece, led the team with 73 goals including 14 games of at least a hat trick. He was named the WCC Freshman of the Year and on the All-Conference First-Team, WCC All-Freshman Team and WCC All-Tournament Team. He won four weekly honors from the conference including one Player of the Week and three Newcomer of the Weeks.
 
Buzaglo, a Kibbutz Shamir, Israel product, netted 34 goals on the year with 11 multi-goal performances and four hat tricks. He was honored on the All-Conference Second-Team and WCC All-Academic Team. Buzaglo drew a team-high 52 exclusions from the center position including a season-high seven against Fordham.
 
Kasa-Gal, a Budapest, Hungary native, registered 57 goals, 21 assists and 13 steals. He was named to the All-Conference Second-Team and WCC All-Freshman Team. He was named WCC Newcomer of the Week on Sept. 2 after his first collegiate weekend where he netted 17 goals in three games against Iona, Long Island and Fordham.
 
The trio played under the direction of head coach James Graham who was named Coach of the Year in the league for the sixth time in his career and second season in a row on the men's side. Pacific is 11-1 in conference over the last two seasons.
