STOCKTON, Calif. – While not seeing the results that were expected at the beginning of the season, the Pacific beach volleyball team finished the 2022 regular season on a high note before competing in two dual postseason matches during the West Coast Conference Championships.
Highlighted by a victory over San Francisco on the final regular-season dual match on April 19, the Tigers finished the season with a 1-18 record.
Megan Nishimura and
Shahrzad Sadeghi led the Tigers, winning five matches apiece, including earning four-match wins while teaming up seven times at No. 5 doubles during the season.
Jenny Todd and
Lucy Carpenter came alive towards the end of the season, earning two wins in the final five dual matches of the regular season. Competing primarily at No. 2 doubles, the duo finished the season with a 4-8 record while going undefeated in one match, competing at No. 3 doubles.
Todd, who also teamed up with
Sammie Sheppard, completed the season with four wins as the duo earned a 14-21, 21-18, 16-14 come from behind victory against Sacramento State on March 5.
The Tigers traveled to Santa Monica, Calif., as the seventh seed in the West Coast Conference Tournament and competed in two dual matches to wrap up the season. The team faced off against nationally-ranked Pepperdine for the second time during the season and then against San Francisco in the season's final matchup. Todd and Carpenter won the Tigers' last match, as the duo earned a 21-16, 21-19 straight-sets victory over Jessica Eanes and Letizia Aquilino.
