BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Pacific beach volleyball team dropped a pair of dual matches, falling to CSU Bakersfield Saturday afternoon at the Barnes Beach Volleyball Complex.
The Tigers, taking on the Roadrunners for the second and third times in program history, fell in the first dual match of the afternoon, 5-0.
Hania Taduran and
Sammie Sheppard teamed up at No. 1 doubles for the seventh time this season and dropped a two-set match, 21-16, 22-20 to Cameron Solberg and Milica Vukobrat. The most competitive match turned out to be
Darina Kumanova and
Megan Nishimura at No. 4 doubles competing together for the seventh time this season. The duo fought hard but ultimately came up short, dropping both sets 21-18 and 21-19 to Alaina Gendale and Seleisa Elisaia.
Pacific faced off against CSU Bakersfield for a second time later in the afternoon, falling once again, 5-0.
Brooklynn Thomas and
Shahrzad Sadeghi, teaming up at No. 3 doubles, nearly forced a deciding third set but fell 23-21 in the second set after Anna Unke and Brooke Boiseau snatched the first set, 21-10.
Pacific returns to action on Friday, April 15 as the Tigers travel to take on Santa Clara in the final road contest of the season. The dual match at the SCU Beach Volleyball Courts will begin at 3 p.m.
