PROVO, Utah – The Pacific Men's Golf Team battled twelve other schools and the weather this weekend in the 57th Annual PING Cougar Classic, hosted by BYU.
The Tigers finished 9th in the 13-team pool with a total score of 872.
Head Coach
John Cook said he was proud of how his players pushed through during the challenging weather.
"Haakon Mathieson had his first under-par round at Pacific in a tournament," said Cook. "
Leonardo Rigamonti had three steady rounds, shooting one-under-par for the tournament.
We're looking forward to the conference tournament next week, hoping for better weather."
The Tigers finished with 282 in the first round, 299 in the second round and 291 in the third for a total eight-over-par 872.
Junior
Leonardo Rigamonti finished the tournament tied for 20th with a 215. Sophomore Haakon Mathieson finished tied for 30th with a 218. Junior
Maverick Pavletich finished tied for 36th with a 219. Senior
Riley Killip finished tied for 41st with 220. Redshirt junior
Thomas O'Rourke finished 76th with a 235.

O'Rourke had one of only 16 eagles in the tournament. Rigamonti had 13 birdies, Mathieson had 11, and Killip had 10. Pavletich shot par 34 times.
Rigamonti was eighth overall on par-fives, shooting five-under. Mathieson was not far behind, shooting four-under. Killip led the team on par-fours, shooting two-under. Pavletich led the Tigers in par-threes, shooting one-over.
The Tigers travel to Henderson, Nev. April 28-30 for the WCC Conference Championship, held at Reflection Bay Golf Club.
