STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific beach volleyball team dropped a 3-2 home dual match to Sacramento State Saturday morning at the Raney Sand Volleyball Courts.
Playing the Hornets for the second time this season, the Tigers grabbed a win at No. 5 doubles via forfeit and gained an early advantage before the contest began. The Hornets, however, earned victories in three of the four remaining doubles matches to secure the win.
Jenny Todd and
Lucy Carpenter earned a win at No. 3 doubles, taking a 21-13, 21-19 straight-sets victory over Macey Hayden and Kalahi Hayes. Todd and Carpenter, teaming up for the sixth time this season, earned their second straight win after coming out victorious last weekend against San Francisco.
Darina Kumanova and
Megan Nishimura competed hard at No. 4 doubles, capturing the first set 23-21. The duo, who have won at least one set in the past four dual matches, ultimately fell, dropping the final two sets, 21-19, 15-11.
Pacific returns to action on Saturday, April 9, as the Tigers travel to Bakersfield, Calif., to compete in the CSU Bakersfield Tournament.
