SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Pacific beach volleyball team hits the road for the final regular-season contest, facing off against Santa Clara on April 15 at the SCU Beach Volleyball Courts.
Last time out, the Tigers took on CSU Bakersfield in two dual matches this past weekend at the Barnes Beach Volleyball Complex.
Hania Taduran and
Sammie Sheppard teamed up at No. 1 doubles for the seventh time this season and dropped a two-set match, 21-16, 22-20, to Cameron Solberg and Milica Vukobrat. The most competitive match turned out to be
Darina Kumanova and
Megan Nishimura at No. 4 doubles, competing together for the seventh time this season. The duo fought hard but ultimately fell short, dropping both sets 21-18 and 21-19 to Alaina Gendale and Seleisa Elisaia.
Nishimura and
Shahrzad Sadeghi continue to succeed this season, leading the Tigers in wins. The duo has teamed up, primarily at No. 5 doubles, and has accumulated four wins apiece. This season, Todd has tallied three wins, earning wins at the top three doubles positions.
Santa Clara comes into the contest with an 8-14 record after defeating Saint Mary's on Tuesday, April 12. Since the 2013 season, the Tigers have tallied eight wins over the Broncos, including winning the first five contests between the two programs from April 14, 2013, to March 5, 2017.
