STOCKTON, Calif. – The Tigers hosted #20 Pepperdine to kick off the regular season's final month. The Waves overcame two forfeits to win 4-1.
The Waves forfeited the number three doubles match in a decision made by the coaches before the players stepped on the court. The Tigers started up a match, but Pepperdine overcame the 1-0 deficit to pick up the doubles point.
The Waves forfeited their number six singles match as well, briefly tying the game before singles officially started.
Pepperdine showed why they are a top 20 team in the country, winning number one, four and five singles to complete the 4-1 victory.
Peter Alam and
Ran Amar did not finish their matches, but Alam's score was (6-7, 4-3), and Amar was at (3-6, 3-2) when the match ended.
The Tigers are back home again tomorrow as they will host Loyola Marymount. Doubles will begin at noon.
