Walker Named to Pacific Volleyball Staff

STOCKTON, Calif. – Katie Walker, a nine-season veteran as an NCAA Division I assistant coach, has been selected as an assistant coach in the Pacific volleyball program. She will have responsibilities for both indoor and beach volleyball. Most recently, Walker completed her third season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Drake Bulldogs in the competitive Missouri Valley Conference.

"First, Katie is a great teacher," said head coach Greg Gibbons. "Second, she brings both experience and energy to our staff. She worked for coaches that used similar systems, so she's a step ahead. I'm excited for her to join our staff."

Before Drake, Walker spent a year as a volunteer assistant for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2018), two years on the staff at Seattle (2016-17), and a year at Middle Tennessee State (2015).

Walker, a three-year member of the Idaho State volleyball program, earned Big Sky Conference All-Academic honors in 2011. She started coaching as a graduate assistant at Northern Kentucky for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. While coaching for the Norse, she earned a master's degree in education, graduating in 2015. She earned a bachelor's degree in human exceptionality from Idaho State in 2013.

Walker joins a surging Pacific indoor volleyball program that won six of its final nine WCC matches in 2021 to finish with a 10-8 league mark and earned an automatic berth in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. The beach season started in February and will continue through the WCC Championships, which are scheduled for April 29-30.
