BOISE, Idaho – Nothing like an exciting finish to a busy weekend of tennis, and the Tigers provided that today. In another match that came down to the final pairing, Boise State pulled out a 4-3 win.
Boise State started with a quick win in the doubles competition, winning #1 and #2 doubles 6-2 and 6-3 to go up early 1-0.
The Broncos extended the lead early in singles, winning #6 and #5 to take a 3-0 lead. Peter Alam got the Tigers on the board with a (6-3, 7-6) win. Brandon Park followed that up with a (7-6, 7-6) win, and a Ran Amar (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) win brought the Tigers even with the Broncos.
It all came down to #1 singles, as Aleska Mardjonovic and Pedro Liborio were battling it out. Mardjonovic kept it close in both sets but ultimately fell (7-5, 7-5).
The Tigers will be back in action on March 15, taking on Northern Arizona at home.
