SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Pacific women's track team, competing in its second to the last meet of the season, traveled to Sacramento State Saturday morning and took part in the Hornet Invite.

Three Tigers competed in the 5000-meter race as
Emma Winkler,
Sophie Pazzo, and
Ailey Butler earned top-20 finishes. Winkler led the way for the Tigers, finishing the 12-lap race in ninth-place with a time of 18:21.32. Winkler set a season-best as she competed for the first time in the 5000-meter this season and was 21 seconds away from her personal-best set in 2018.

Alyssa Hershey, competing in the 1500-meter race for the second time this season, earned a top-10 finish as she set a personal-best time of 4:49.22. Powered by a sub-55 second first lap, Hershey was six seconds faster than her previous best time of 4:55.83 set on March 27, 2021, at the Westmont Classic.
Ella LeRoy and
Kari Tanji also competed in the 1500-meter and finished in 20th place and 24th place.

Abigail Wolf,
Hana Rosenblatt, and Oziomachukwu Okonkwo earned top-five finishes in their respective sections in the 400-meter race. Wolf earned a third-place finish in her section with a time of 1:03.06, while Rosenblatt followed behind in fifth-place with a time of 1:04.48. Okonkwo finished first in her group with a time of 1:08.23.

Pacific returns to action on Thursday, March 31, as the Tigers travel to the Bay Area to compete in the Mike Fanelli Invitational at San Francisco State University.
