SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Pacific women's cross country team had several runners set personal bests as the Tigers competed at the Bronco Invitational Saturday morning to wrap up the regular season.
 
"The team was strong and ran well," Head Coach Josh Jones stated after the meet. "Five of the seven runners we had today set personal records."
 
Sophie Pazzo led the charge for the Tigers in the meet, setting a new personal best in the 6k with a time of 22:05.2. Surpassing her previous best set at the Bronco Invitational last season by 44 seconds, Pazzo ran her second sub 23 minute 6k of her career.
 
"Sophie was the strongest I have ever seen her," Jones said regarding Pazzo's performance. "Having a 44-second personal record as a junior is an awesome accomplishment."
 
Ella Leroy, Sophia Livingston, Briteny Goriye, and Dalee Higgins were among the rest who set personal bests during the event. Higgins posted her first-ever sub-24-minute 6k, finishing the race with a time of 23:33.3.
 
Leroy and Goriye surpassed their previous bests in the 6k set two weeks ago at the Pacific Invitational as Leroy shaved over a minute off, finishing the race with a personal best time of 24:04.3. Goriye, competing in her second career 6k, finished with a time of 25:56.7.
 
Livingston finished her first 6k of her career, posting a personal best time of 27:34.4.
 
Pacific returns to action on Friday, Oct. 28, as the Tigers travel to Portland, Ore., to compete in the West Coast Conference championships, hosted at Fern Hill Park.
