Pacific battled Long Beach State, Cal and UC Davis at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational at UC Irvine in 2020 but hasn't played San Jose State since 2017, with their last two matchups in the Tigers' win column.

For fans wishing to attend this weekend's games, the following is Cal's COVID-19 policy:

Fans attending games held in outdoor venues are strongly encouraged to wear facial coverings in outdoor areas. Facial coverings are required at all times in indoor spaces (i.e., restrooms) for guests ages 2 and up regardless of vaccination status, unless actively eating or drinking. Masks will be available at entrances for fans upon request.

Heading into the 2022 season, Pacific was picked to finish second with one first-place vote and 39 points in the Golden Coast Conference (GCC) preseason poll. Pacific shared the 2021 regular-season title with San Diego State and Fresno State, with a 6-1 record in league play and an overall record of 9-6. It was the team's third straight GCC regular-season title.

Ranked 13 in the CWPA's preseason poll, after some team's opened their season's this past weekend, Pacific now sits at 15.

Head Coach James Graham says he's looking forward to having a complete team together and expects to compete for the championship and a chance to go to nationals.

"It's been difficult over the past couple of years due to redshirt seasons for a couple of players before COVID-19 and then not being able to have all of our players come to town for various reasons throughout the pandemic," said Graham. "I'm really excited to have this group together; they're hard-working, they've grown a lot, and I think they're determined to play their best."
