FRESNO, Calif. - The University of the Pacific men's golf team is in seventh place, moving up four spots after its first 18 holes. after Monday's first day of the Nick Watney Invitational at the San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno, California.

The Tigers are led by the -2 play of
Maverick Pavletich, who shot a 140 (72-68) on the par 71 course. Pavletich is in a tie for sixth place with 24 pars and seven birdies through his first 36 holes. Felix Schrott of CSUN is the individual leader with a -7, 135 (68-67) for a two-stroke lead.

As a team, Pacific recorded 107 pars, 29 birdies – which is the fourth most in the field – and an eagle. Pacific shot a 584 (298-286). Its second round total of 286 was one of the lowest rounds by a team on the day. Host Fresno State holds a six-shot lead on the field with a 560 (281-279).
