STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's golf team lowered its score by four strokes in the second round of the Saint Mary's Invitational at the Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, California. The Tigers have a 36-hole total of 598 (301-297).
No. 6 Stanford remains the team leader with a 549 (269-280), -19 for a seven-stroke lead in the 54-hole tournament. Quim Vidal Mora of Nevada moved up 20 spots with a second round 65 for a 36-hole total of 135 (70-65), -7 for a one-stroke lead.
The Tigers are led by
Griffin Long, who shot his second-straight round of 73 (+4) and is tied for 52nd. The rest of the Pacific lineup includes
Riley Killip, who lowered his score by six strokes for a 36-hole total of 150 (78-72), +8 and is tied for 82
nd.
Leonardo Rigamonti improved by a stroke with a 75 for a 36-hole total of 151 (76-75), +9 and he is in a tie for 86
th with teammate
Riley Killip. To round out the Pacific lineup,
Thomas O'Rourke shot his second-straight round of 82 for a 164 en route to 104
th place. As an individual,
Haakon Mathiesen is tied for 99
th with a 157 (76-81).
As a team, Pacific has recorded 108 and 17 birdies through the first 36 holes. Janik, Long and Rigamonti each led the Tigers with 22 pars. Long leads the team with six birdies.
Wednesday's final round will get underway at 8 a.m.
